A dining table is one of the hardest things to sell privately in Dubai. It’s big, it’s heavy, it rarely fits in a car, and most buyers want the chairs too. Here’s what decides what yours is worth, and how to sell it without the hassle.
Sets sell better than tables on their own
A table with its matching chairs is worth noticeably more than the same pieces sold separately. Someone furnishing a flat wants one complete purchase, not a table from one seller and six chairs from another. If you still have all the chairs, keep them together. If a chair or two is damaged, say so up front. A six-seater with five good chairs is still a sellable set.
What affects the value
- Material. Solid wood and marble or sintered-stone tops hold their value best. Veneer and MDF tables are worth less, especially if the edges are chipped.
- Brand. Tables from recognised furniture stores resell better than unbranded pieces, so look for a label under the tabletop.
- Condition. Heat rings, deep scratches and wobbly legs bring the price down. Light surface marks usually don’t.
- Size. Four and six-seaters suit most Dubai apartments, so they’re the easiest to resell. Very large tables have a smaller pool of buyers.

Glass and marble tops need care
Glass and stone tops are popular in Dubai homes, but they’re also the pieces most likely to get damaged on the way out. Marble tops in particular are very heavy and usually need two or three people and a service lift. That’s one of the biggest reasons people sell to a buyer who collects: you don’t have to risk carrying it yourself. If the top lifts off the base, mention it when you message us. It makes collection quicker.
Extendable tables, benches and sideboards
An extendable table is worth more when every leaf and the mechanism are there and working, so find the extension pieces before you take photos. Dining benches, sideboards, buffet cabinets and display units can go in the same sale. One collection for the whole dining room is simpler than selling each piece separately.
How to photograph a dining set
Clear everything off the table first, including the runner and placemats. Take one photo of the full set, one close-up of the tabletop in daylight, and one of a single chair from the side. Add the table’s length and width and the number of chairs. That’s usually enough for an accurate offer. For more tips, see how to prepare furniture for sale.
Selling it the easy way
Listing a dining set online usually means weeks of messages, low offers and no-shows, then arranging transport for whoever finally buys. Selling to a furniture buyer skips all of that. You send photos, get an offer, and the set is collected and paid for in cash. See how our pickup works, or compare your options in our Dubizzle vs furniture buyers guide.
